What are you to do?
I am often asked why I do what I do. Why do I bother with folks I do not know? The natural answer to that question is an unconditional love for the human soul.
But lets also look at a few scriptures that explains why a minister of any sort does what they do.
Look at Romans 10:14-15, and 17
"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?"
"And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"
"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
There are a few things we can understand from these couple of verses.
1.) The gospel was given by Christ as it says in verse 14. How can we call on him, how shall we believe on him? Both of these are speaking of Christ. This is believing in something you can not see, by using your faith.
2.) The gospel must be preached. He gave the word to the preacher to give to the multitudes. As it says, how can they hear without a preacher? There must be a preacher so the word of God can be heard.
3.) The preacher must be sent. It states in verse 15, how shall they preach except they be sent. This is the calling of God on man to go and preach the gospel.
Just as it says in Mark 16:15, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
I want the world to hear the gospel so their faith can take hold of their soul.
It says that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Faith is something not seen, but heard. There is no hearing except by the word of God. There is no word of God heard unless there is a minister to spread the good news.
So according to this, why do we want the gospel told? So it can be heard and faith can take place. The faith comes by hearing, so you need to hear the word of God so faith can come. Now with this in mind, why do you want faith?
Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace are you saved through faith;...."
Our salvation is by grace through faith. This grace is a gift from God, and the ONLY way to receive this gift is through your faith.
As it says in Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe (or have faith) in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved!
This is my ultimate goal; I am so in love with every living creature, that I want them to be able to hear the gospel, or good news of Christ Jesus. I want to see the greatest of all miracles, the miracle of salvation through faith that gives us, lowly man, a way of living with the almighty God.
If you have never confessed with your mouth or had the faith spoke of here, and you would like to understand more about this faith then please say this little prayer with me. Jesus I confess with my mouth that you are Lord and believe that God did raise you from the dead and want you to live in my heart and control my life. Amen.
If you said this little prayer then you are now saved by the grace through your faith, and we would love to hear about this new salvation so we can rejoice with you. Please drop us a note to let us know, and we can send you a few things to help with you new walk in your Christian life.
With love in Christ,
Pastor Stone
